All’s well that ends well

Probably my worst days sailing picking up penalties in every race. The worst one was where I sat stationary on the start line and a boat sails in at speed from behind and hits me. The judges called a penalty on me claiming it was windward leeward. When I quizzed the chief judge he believed I was unfairly penalised. Nothing to be done.

You can see all the disasters on you tube so I won’t go into details. Needless to say most were my fault. It’s always your fault if you hit someone and stop even if you are on starboard.

So I had 3 last places. Hard to get my head around that and then won the last race. A day of extremes. I can’t get down hearted because the weather is good, the boat is quick and the race organisation is superb.

Today I start in B fleet. Things can only get better.
